With EMDR or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, your thoughts can move to a place of calmly processing and moving out of a difficult thought pattern. With skillfully incorporated eye movements and specific thought focus, you can move through these thoughts in session. Since the 1980s, EMDR has successfully treated clients trapped in negative thoughts and emotions. Although EMDR is often used for trauma treatment, it also helps with unhealthy, self-directed beliefs.
